Mother's Day, this year, just happened to fall on my birthday. Or, perhaps I should say my birthday fell on Mother's Day? Well, regardless, it meant that I got to spend a weekend doing things I wanted to do...well, mostly.
On Saturday, May 12th, we decided to have a family day on the Oregon coast. We drove to Pacific City, enjoyed the beach, ate some lunch and then took a drive to Lincoln City to do some shopping and have dinner before heading home.
The girls experienced the beach for the first time last 4th of July weekend, but were only 4 months at the time and didn't quite fully understand the experience. This time, I full on expected them to be getting dirty while playing in (and eating) the sand.
Well...Esme did.
Ellerie was fine as long as her shoes were on, but when we took her shoes off to "fully enjoy" the sand, it resulted in meltdowns. Poor girl! I think we kept her distracted with sand toys enough to enjoy it a little, and she did enjoy putting her feet in the water (with her water shoes on).
It was a beautiful sunny day at the beach and I can't wait to take the girls again soon. Fortunately, it's only a couple hour drive!
Here are my cuties! (Esme in green, Ellerie is pink/coral)
Incredibly cute girls and dresses!
