Improptu Product Photo Session

In a previous post I wrote about sewing up some carriers for children to carry their favorite doll/stuffed animals in. I made a few for Christmas gifts and a few more for our Etsy shop Sticks & Fuzzies

On Saturday, we decided to do a quick photo session with the carriers on our kids. Well, anytime you attempt to photograph 3 almost three-year-olds (or even 1 for that matter), you're in for an adventure. Esme was the only cooperative one through the whole session, but we somehow managed to capture an adorable photo of the three girls.

They are a Mei Tai style carrier (just like one you could wear to carry a baby) and tie for sizing flexibility. They've been selling well and I think there are only two left available in the shop right now. If you're interested, don't worry...there are several more in the works! We take custom orders too!

2-Year Photos

We're finally settled in our new home and we're all thoroughly enjoying having a backyard and a park next door!

I'll have some more 2nd birthday posts coming. I know, I know...their birthday was over a month ago! We've been busy! The girls' had their birthday party a few weeks ago. We had a lot of fun planning and celebrating their Pancakes and Pajamas party and, when I get those photos, I'll write up a post.

In the meantime, I wanted to share a few photos from the girls' 2-year photo shoot...

Christmas Photo...A Little Late

I have realized that I never posted a picture of the girls in their Christmas dresses. Here is one of the photos that made our Christmas card!

Happy Halloween!

I wasn't going to dress up the girls this year. I mean, why go all out and spend a lot of money on a costume when you're not planning to do anything. In fact, the girls are in bed by 7pm.

Well, that all changed when Whitney at Bliss Studio (a great friend and photographer) told me that she was going to do her Halloween set this year. We thought it would be fun to dress all three girls (her daughter included) and get pictures of them together. Well, it sounded like fun, but I still didn't want to spend lots of money on something they would wear for 20 minutes.

Fortunately, I found these adorable butterfly wings on sale for about $5 each. We grabbed a few tutus from our Sticks and Fuzzies store, some cute striped leggings from our stash of way too many leggings and...VOILA!...three adorable butterflies!

Here are a couple pictures she snagged of the girls...

I'll try and get some pictures up tomorrow of the girls' three pumpkin patch visits this year!

Parade

We walked in the Multnomah Days parade last year (girls were about 5 months old), in support of my friend Whitney and her photography studio (Bliss Studio). See last year's post here.

This year, the girls were a little bit bigger, but we knew it would be a challenge for them to walk the entire distance while we pulled wagons with pictures and threw candy to parade watchers. So, we decided that a stroller ride would be the best option.

The girls loved it! They love watching people and they love the attention. It was a fun experience and we look forward to doing it each year. Thanks, Whitney, for letting us be a part of it.

One Year Photo Shoot

Remember my post awhile back about the nature walk? If not, you can see it here. This location was sought out specifically as a location for the girls' one year photo shoot. We wanted fields of wildflowers, and this is what we found.

I've posted before about the wonderful photographs my friend Whitney takes. She owns a photography studio, Bliss Studio, here in Portland. She took my maternity photos and the girls' newborn, 6 month and now 1 year photos. These photos are going to all be artistically compiled in a wonderful album created by Whitney over the next several months. I'm excited to have the girls' first year documented in such a way.

I wanted to share with you a few photos from the session. To see a couple more, venture to the Bliss Studio Blog found here. You can see them all a lot bigger there too! Go take a peek!

Here are a few photos that just make me laugh! Most photographers would immediately delete these kinds of photos, but I just don't understand why. This is what kids do! Would I have a big print of these on my wall? No, but they are moments being captured, and I love that.

Little Ellerie...

And Esme, when we asked, "Where's your nose?"...

This one I do have on my wall! I LOVE it!!! Happy Birthday/Mother's Day to me!

A few more favorites...

I've seen all the photos now, and we had a terrible time narrowing them down for the album. There were so many...as usual!

Thanks again, Whitney!

Slacker...???

Wow! I have been a slacker!

Ok, maybe it's because I've been so busy with working full time and being a full time mommy that I don't have time to even gather thoughts together to write a blog post! I actually do have some posts written up in my head. I just need to find the time and energy to write them.

I would do it now while the girls take their afternoon nap, but I just don't know how long that will last and I have laundry to fold, dishes to do, kitchen to clean, lunch to make and eat, dinner to "consider," etc. etc. etc. And...it's my day off work!

I hope to find some time this weekend. Until then enjoy a picture of my cuties from their 6 month photo shoot...

A Little Background...Part Three...Maternity Pictures

I am fortunate to know a wonderful photographer! Her name is Whitney and she owns Bliss Studio. Jonathan and I met her and her husband, Dan, through some connections when we were searching for a wedding photographer. Our wedding photographs turned out wonderful and Whitney designed a beautiful album of all those photos that sits out in our living room today.

Since our wedding, Whitney and I have become good friends. Even though Whitney photographed our wedding, photographing babies and children is her specialty. So, when I got pregnant, I knew I wanted her to take my maternity photos, baby photos and create us an album for our little ones. Of course, Whitney told me I didn't have much of a choice anyway...I had to do it!

We took my maternity photos when I was around 28 weeks pregnant. We had a lot of fun getting creative with shots. Jonathan is a big Oregon Duck fan and we even managed to bring that element into some shots with Oregon sweatshirts and little rubber ducks. My favorite is the one of me outside in my rain boots and dress. It was December when we took these pictures and it was quite cold outside, so we had to rush through those shots, but they turned out great! There are so many incredible pictures, but here are a few from her "sneak peak..."
